Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the nutritional patterns and balanced nutritional conditions of pond farming families in the coastal area of ​​Belawan village, Medan-Belawan sub-district. Descriptive method used in this research. Searching for data using the method of observation, questionnaires and for consultation. The subjects of this study were 8 families or 32 family members of pond makers, totaling four people. Cross and proportion tables were used for data analysis, which were then given descriptively. The conclusion of this study is the balanced diet of the Belawan village community. The activities of the Belawan village community are mostly (65.7%) at the average level. As much as 75% found that the clean lifestyle of pond farming families was not good. Up to 56.3% of people are not at their ideal weight, but individual weight monitoring is considered negligible. The habit of consuming the staple food of the Belawan village community is dominated by rice brought from other regions. Consumption of additional food is mainly covered by seafood and ponds, and consumption of vegetables and fruits is very small, 2-3 times a day along with meals.
